October Memories!

Halloween has come and gone, but fortunately we have some great memories of the season! We were lucky enough to have two consecutive weekends of grandkids visit us in October. The Moberly's were first to visit and we made sure we visited the local pumpkin patch! There were some other pretty scary visitors at the pumpkin patch too.

The following weekend brought Gary, Kelli and Avery for a visit and once again we made a trip to the pumpkin patch. There's every type of pumpkin at the pumpkin patch--even Cinderella's magic pumpkin coach where our two princesses took a seat!

Back at home you could find Avery and Daddy "stirring and stirring

Even our decoratations were a little spookier this year or sillier...Karli was thrilled when her friends invited her over to carve pumpkins.

She hadn't carved a pumpkin in years. We used to be so good at carving pumpkins, but as the years went on we just kind of stopped doing it. I have to admit it is NOT my favorite Halloween tradition. It all starts out great- excited kids cut into their pumpkin--it's gooey and slimy- every kid's dream (unless your little Gary- hee hee). You spend hours deciding on your design- then after the first slice you've really had enough of the whole pumpkin thing and Mom and Dad are left to finish carving 5 pumpkins. Hmm- maybe that's why the tradition sort of disappeared around our home. Yea, Karli, sometimes it stinks being the baby of the family. Traditions die out before you even get a chance to enjoy them, so I'm glad you got to relive the "FUN" of carving pumpkins once again! Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween!
