Day One of our Olympic competition began with water relays. But before we began each team posed for their best, "Game Face" photo!
The Blue Team
The Red Team
and the White Team
Here we go- everybody in the pool!
Karli and Kristal racing with pool noodles!
Beach Ball/ Head Relay
Singing and Swimming Relay
We did a relay where you had to balance a wet sponge on your head as you swam the length of the pool and this little guy loved it. Look at the determination in his face! In fact every time we went swimming after that- he ran to get the sponge and put it on his head. I think we may have warped his sense of what a sponge is really for! So funny!
While the kids enjoyed the pool...
The big guys started an impromptu competition of their own.
A Limbo Diving Contest!
Dad and Michael clear the stick
Kristal and Caden give it a try!
Marty and Gary
Good entertainment for these little ones as the stick rose higher and higher
and they saw more crash and burns!
Later on that evening we played Watermelon Water Polo-
a game for the truly fierce and brave!
Michael ready with the greased melon
Ready! Set! Go!
What an intense game! The evening ended with an old favorite-
The Toothpick Game- much less dangerous!
A great first day Olympics! More to come!
