Thanksgiving Blessings!

November 22, 2012

We were grateful that for our first year as "empty nesters" that we had some company for Thanksgiving.  Gary, Kelli, Avery and Aiden joined us for the week, while Marty, Sarah, Karli, and  Michael stayed in Utah. Kristal, Ryan and their children also went to Utah to spend the holidays with the Moberly clan!

Gary had the whole week off, so he used his vacation to take Kelli on a belated anniversary getaway to Las Vegas while Dad and I tended the kids for a few days.
We felt so lucky to get to spend some quality time with these sweet kids!

It didn't take long for Aiden to remember how he loves to play ball with Papa.  Every time Papa would lay on the floor he would crawl onto Papa's tummy for some ball throwing!
He loved Papa catching the ball right before it hit his face!

Nana and Papa's spa tub was a big hit and a nightly event!

Especially love this picture of Aiden!
"Whadda ya mean I have to get out in 4 minutes? I just got in!"

The only hitch was a short bout of the stomach flu that kept Avery down for a day,
and unfortunately her Mom and Dad got it too, which put a
bit of a damper on one of their days in Vegas.

When Avery felt better we made time for some Thanksgiving turkey art

Avery discovered Karli's old ballet costumes and had fun dressing up
 and striking some awesome poses!

Avery helped with all the Thanksgiving preparations

We enjoyed a yummy dinner
Gary and Kelli even braved the Black Friday crowds late on Thanksgiving night!

The next day was warm and sunny- just perfect for playing in the sand-
while Papa and Gary put up Christmas lights

This girl is a pretty awesome bike rider

and this little guy couldn't get enough of riding bikes with Papa

In fact, both kids begged for rides on the "big" bikes

We made sure to make time for our annual decorating of candy houses

Since Karli and Michael weren't with us-
I took it upon myself to decorate their houses this year-
I needed more than just Dad's and my house for our decorations.
So Karli- this is what you get when you're not here to decorate your own house-

This year for Karli- a" Barbie Dream House"
Sorry- no Ken for you!  This "Barbie" is going on a mission-
better add some sleeves to that dress!

and for Michael- "Yee-Haw" - a Western Hacienda!
Complete with a horse, cactus and the "M" brand on the back wall!
Merry Christmas Pardner!
Can't wait to see y'all real soon!
