Lake Arrowhead- Part 2

July 1-5 2012

Lake Arrowhead got pretty busy with Fourth of July coming up- so we took a break from the boat and enjoyed the beachfront-  all 20X20 of it!   Pretty small- but the kids didn't care as long as there was sand to dig in!
Ky loved Avery's pink intertube and wore it all afternoon.
He waddled around like a tubby old man!

Having fun splashing off the dock!

This little guy was so happy all week!

Taking  the canoe for a spin

Making a new friend--Mr. Crawdaddy!
Doesn't look like Caden is too sure about his new friend.

The dock begged to be jumped off of

and that led to a fun game of trying to catch the football off the dock

finally it looks like someone might actually catch it.  Go Gary!

This guy is still such a stud

Love this photo of Dad and the boys- but we're missing you MARTY!

We had so much fun going up the village and taking the kids to the mini amusement park
First a stop at the fun house- five crazy kids clowning around

Yup like I said- this guy's a real hunk
For the life of me- I can not figure out what Michael has on his head in
 the background of this photo!

Enjoying the rides
and the carousel

afterwards enjoying ice cream cones- especially Ky Ky

July fourth was crowded on the lake so we spent the afternoon lazing around the cabin
Papa introduces Aiden to the grand kids favorite game to play with Papa.
Gary and kids spend a quiet moment together.  Funny how technology has changed us!  Nowadays instead of books it's Iphones!  Too funny!
(Of course there weren't many kids books at the cabin.)

July Fourth brought a spectacular sunset
Fireworks at Lake Arrowhead is quite something. At dark, all the boats pull into the lake and turn on their lights to wait for an amazing fireworks display.  Fireworks are set off on a barge in the center of the lake.  Lucky us--the Cummins cabin is right in front of the show...we watched it from their deck.

It was a fabulous show- probably one of the best I've ever seen.
Our photos don't do it justice- but it really was spectacular.
We won't be forgetting this Fourth of July anytime soon.

What a great time we had.  It was so fun!
Thanks Gary and Kelli and Shelly and Al for having us.
We loved every minute of it.

The next morning we didn't want to say goodbye to beautiful Lake Arrowhead-
but these treats made it a little easier.
Yummy waffles from the famous Belgian Waffle House at the Village.
A great end to a great vacation!
