Weekend with the Moberly Kids!

June 6-9, 2013

Nana and Papa had the special treat of staying with the our Moberly

 grandchildren while Kristal and Ryan went to a wedding for the weekend in San Luis.

  We had fun!  As always, it is special to be able to spend time with our grand kids-

 especially those times when we get to be not only Nana and Papa,

 but Mom and Dad too, while their parents are gone. 

 Here are some pictures of some of the fun!

Brooklyn and Caden were still in school and it was extra special for us to attend Brooklyn's first Awards Assembly.  At her school Award Assemblies start in third grade.  Kristal and Ryan were sad to miss her first one- but we felt really lucky to be there for it...something we don't normally get to do.  She received an award called , the "O" Club award.  The "O" stands for outstanding behavior throughout the year.  Here she and her best friend, Lily are accepting their awards from their teacher, Mrs. Coleman.

Afterwards all the third grade classes sang to us and to their principal,
who is leaving the school this year.

Reminded me of the "good old days" at the Belleview Award Assemblies -

 except we had one every month!  With four kids at Belleview for awhile- it seemed like

 I was always at an Awards Assembly nearly every month of the school year

 for one child or another.  But then you all WERE all amazing, outstanding children! 

 Remember all those Belleview Bulldog Awards?:)  :)

Kyson and I did a little stamping with his new "Curious George" stamps that came with

 his Book Club book from Nana.  Kristal is going to just LOVE this!

 What a mess, and no, it didn't wash off!

 

Ky and I set up a treasure hunt for everyone when they returned from school.

  The kids had to follow a crepe paper trail that wound around the house-

 leading them to a special treat! 

We went for a short visit to the park that afternoon while

 Kristal and Ryan's house was being shown.

Ky said it was too sunny during his swing and needed sunglasses, so he swiped mine! :)

Hey- you may be in the "baby" swings- but you got to look cool doing it!

That night after dinner I showed them some "Magic Rocks" I had made for them!

The rocks when dropped in a magical liquid- fizzed away to reveal small prizes!

The next day was Caden's closing ceremonies for his T-Ball Season-
at the ball park- just up the street from their home. 

 There were some games, lunch, and an awards ceremony!

By then it was hot and we went to their Aunt Jamie's home for a dip in the pool!

Here Ky is learning the finer art of peeing in the backyard, instead of the pool!

Then it was home for some messy fun--Oobleck.  Last time I tried this with the
 kids it was February and they were freezing.
  Thought I'd give it another try and this time it was much more fun!

Thought we'd jazz things up with some colored ice cubes-

 thinking it would color the oobleck- but it didn't really do much!

Even the turtle, Munchie, got in on the fun!

Time for a bath with some fun silly faces and  foam circles to play with!

Well- Gary and I survived and had a lot of fun doing it!  

Mommy and Daddy got home Sunday afternoon and you've never

 seen such happy, excited kids! Ky couldn't stop kissing his mama!

I think they enjoyed their weekend with Nana and Papa-

but nobody can replace Mommy and Daddy!

Now we need a weekend with our Miller grand kids!  Last time we watched them we

 all got sick and it wasn't much fun for them.  We need a re-do!  Can't wait!
