Hermana Miller Update

June-July 2013

Our missionary, Hermana Miller, is doing great!  She has survived two transfers
and is still in her first area, Brandon, Florida... the place she said when she first got there
that she didn't care for very much and couldn't figure out why the Lord placed her there--
to now loving it and feeling like she never wants to leave Brandon.

Here she is celebrating her 3 month mark on the mission- June 6, 2013 with
one of her favorite treats- peanut butter Oreos!

That same week in June, Florida was under hurricane alert- the wind howled and the
rained poured and the missionaries were even on lockdown for one day in their apartments.
Karli especially loved how the alarm sirens kept going off throughout the night.
Here she is getting woken up by one very early in the morning.
Not a very happy camper!  Just one question?
Does she sleep in her clothes and name tag???
That's a little too much dedication if you ask me!

She enjoyed a Sister's Conference for all the sisters in the
Tampa Mission at the end of May.
Quite an impressive group!

She has developed a LOVE for Latin food!
Are those avocados on her plate?  I could never get her to eat those!

Another love is teaching from the Book of Mormon and it looks like
she is pretty excited over this toad discovery!
She still hasn't spotted a real live alligator yet! Maybe that's a good thing!

Enjoying a Brandon Zone Conference- the last time with her mission president-
President and Sister Summerhays.  They went home in early July.  Each missionary was
to memorize the "I Remember" pledge in the back of the "Preach My Gospel" Manual.
Once correctly recited- they got to sign a poster bearing the pledge and their signature!

Teaching the Plan of Salvation with her companion- Hermana Losada

Enjoying the children of her investigators and ward members

Wishing her Dad a long distance "Happy Father's Day!

Braving the Florida rain without umbrellas!
Some very inventive sisters!

July brought a surprise visit from her dear friend from our ward- Kathryn Ivancovich
and her Dad, Kelley- who were in Florida on vacation.  They totally surprised Karli by
showing up on her doorstep one morning!  She couldn't believe it!
A short, but exciting visit!

She is working hard and enjoying the mission field in Florida!

July transfers brought a new mission president - President Cusick from
Salt Lake City and a new companion- Hermana Rood.  Karli said a tearful goodbye
to dear Sister Losada, whom she served two transfers with, but loves Hermana Rood
and all that she is learning from her.

 Life couldn't be greater!
We love you Hermana Miller and are so proud of you!
