Off to Provo!

Karli was set apart as a missionary on Friday March 1, 2013 by her
 Stake President- Richard Christenson.
It was a beautiful blessing- with some amazing promises given to Karli.
After a quick trip to Gary's to see the new baby we headed off to
Provo on March 3.  We arrived at Marty's house, just in time for a
yummy dinner and some of Marty's fun and games.

See that big exercise ball?  Only Marty could turn that into a fun game!
We had to dive on the ball and roll towards the couch and end up in a sitting position.
We took some fun videos of it with some of us crashing into the side of the couch.
Here are some still shots of our attempts at Marty's new game- "Ball of Fury"!

The next day we ran errands around Provo and then headed up to Bountiful to spend the night with John and Cyd.  They treated us to a big family dinner, where Karli got to see and say goodbye to many of her cousins.

Aunt Judy and Lora Lynn and Karli
Karli and cousin Tifanee

Marty and his cousin Devin were up to their old tricks-
karate chopping each other!

Then they laid into poor Karli!

Karli tried pay back by plotting with Sarah to sneak into Marty and Sarah's bed-
she planned to sleep right between them!
We had a night full of fun at John and Cyd's home.

The next morning we went to the Salt Lake Temple and did an endowment session.
What a majestic and beautiful temple- inside and out!

Those beautiful temple doors in the background

Gary and I recreated a scene from our wedding day nearly 33 years ago.
June 2, 1980
Did I get married with ugly fingernails ( like I have now) -
since I am hiding them underneath Gary's hands?
Those were not the days of fake fingernails!
Didn't have them then and have actually never had them- not even Lee Press-on nails!
and here we are with our hands on the same temple door-
Gary with a new ring (he lost his first one at a baseball game)
old and wrinkled after 32+ years of marriage.

We took some shots of Karli- trying to get a good one for her mission plaque-
she went a little crazy with the photo shoot!

All I can say is she better be grateful we didn't use that first photo in collage above-
we settled on this one instead

We headed back to Provo- went to a late lunch and then went and watched Sarah play in her flag football game. They didn't win that night, but watch out other teams-
her team won the league championship last year!

We finished  the evening by taking Karli out for what she felt like was her last Coldstones
(I'm sure they have those in Florida, however) and the rest of us got mega shakes at JCW's  Yum!

Here's the last shot of our kids all together.

Tomorrow's the BIG day- MTC here she comes!
